Encyclopedia Britannica

How in the world do you get rid of a set of 30-year old Encyclopedia Britannicas? Libraries don't want them, used bookstores don't want them. Does Goodwill or the Salvation Army take them? I hate to throw away 29 beautiful volumes, but . . .

Encyclopedia Britannica

I have had a moment of inspiration since I brought up this subject. I'm going to hire a handyman to make a coffee table, using 4 stacks of 7 volumes each for the corner supports and put a top on it. Think I could patent the idea?

Sadly, your only option

Sadly, your only option might be a place that sells "Books by the Yard". I offer this link only as an example - I don't know anything about them. http://www.bookdecor.com/books-by-the-yard.html

Books as design objects for people with too many shelves and not enough books. Just the opposite of the problem most of us have!
