I love Bookmarks magazine and have been a subscriber for the past few years. I recently discovered the GoodReads website and love using the two to find new great books to read. I have since started a discussion group specifically designed for Bookmarks readers and would love to entice some dedicated readers and members.

If you're like me, you read through your Bookmarks issues with a highlighter so you can make a list of books to read. In my book group, we will have discussions boards for each issue so we can discuss our thoughts the books specifically reviewed for that particular issue.

The name of the group is Bookmarks Subscribers (very original, right?)

Come check it out! I know Bookmarks has a dedicated following, and I would love to pay homage to this terrific magazine through a discussion group centered around their reviews!

Very cool - I'll stop by now and then. Thanks for setting this up.

Best,
Jon

GoodReads has thousands of book clubs, so many people could pass this one by - is there any way we can broadcast information about this group to Bookmarks subscribers? I would really love a strong following that can carry interesting discussions based off of your magazine.

Thanks again!
Stephanie

This group has worked great for me. So often no one is reading what I'm reading (in online book clubs) or it's been so long ago since the entry. Stephanie has it organized by Bookmarks issue so thats easy enough to check a title right here. Check it out. Joyce M

Just left my bookclub for a while because I just had too much other stuff going on . . . discovered Bookmarks and can't BELIEVE how great it is . . . I just want to buy an armload and pass them out to all of my friends . . . off to explore great reads I go!!!

Count me in. I've been a subscriber since 2004. I love getting a new issue. And, yes, I too sit down with it (immediately, if I can) with a highlighter. I've saved every issue and sometimes go back and see what I've actually read and did I agree with reviews.

I have been a bookmarks subscriber for at least a couple years! Love getting it and madly combing the features and reviews! I have tried all kinds of book groups, clubs, etc. Mostly the live ones, but some online also.
Many times finding I am too tired after work to truck across town or I haven't finished the book yet and I am too embarrassed to attend! So, I think this might work for me. Ya know how some books really make you linger and compel you with their depth and content? You can't rush through that! I am a simultaneous reader, usually have at least 5 books going so it's not a straight line from start to finish, never have been a linear type. I take notes,go off on tangents, come back sometimes and sometimes not. Anyway... that's the kind of person I am and if you can handle it, I'd love to partake! Thanx for being here.

Gowing up in the late 70's early 1980 I read a book based in WWII Germany and would like to find a copy if I can. It is a novel for young adults and the plot revolved around a woman who had taken in an American girl who had just come to live with her journalist Uncle. As they were traveling through the country they were in a car accident and the niece was taken in by a local citizen and the Uncle placed in the hospital. The plot centered around the fact the woman who was caring for her after the accident was actually hiding a pair of Jewish sisters. The young girl eventually discovered the secret and was able to help save the young sisters. There was a next door neighbor who was the daughter of a Nazi Officer and caused trouble by reporting there were Jewish people hiding in a local convent and it turns out her mother was actually hiding there. The daughter did not know her mother was Jewish.

For some reason this boook has been on my mind and I can not remember the title or the author. Please can someone assist me!

Hmmm ... I apoloize that I don't know ... but does any book on this list sound famliar?
